Abstract: The results of a series of diffusion trials over the heterogeneous surface of the Canadian Precambrian Shield provide additional support for the convective scaling of the lateral dispersion parameter, σy. The data indicate that under convective conditions σy, can be scaled with the convective velocity scale, w*, and the mixing depth, zi.
