| description abstract | Many types of foreign and domestic crises can increase the concern over terrorist actions directed toward the U.S. commercial air transportation system. Government and airport officials respond to these threats by increasing security measures. However, even under increased levels of security, airport officials are still responsible for ensuring the effective movement of air passengers. To address this problem, a simulation analysis was conducted on the operation of an airport security checkpoint under increased threat conditions. The results provide guidance for airport officials in maintaining effective passenger movement under these conditions. | |
