Abstract: An equation previously derived is experimentally verified and its practical application is considered. The results are compared with the methods previously proposed in the literature. The application of this theory to the experimental results reported in the literature is also shown and the ranges of validity of dispersed plug flow and mixflow are determined to compute the retention time using the velocity equations for the laminar regime.
