    Abstract: A general method is proposed for the analysis of time‐dependent effects on composite highway bridges erected in stages. All relevant sequences of construction are accounted for and implemented into a general computer program. A long‐span composite bridge over the Ebro River in Spain is presented as a practical application of the proposed method.
