Abstract: Nonlinear problems in structures are generally solved by using traditional finite‐element methods. The computations are often accurate, but they are also expensive. A simplified model could, however, be sufficient either in an optimum design problem or if only a rough analysis of the structure is sought. A simplified tool using Damage mechanics is developed for reinforced concrete analysis.
