ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Putting Statistics into the Statistical Energy Analysis of Automotive Vehicles
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Sound and vibration transmission modeling methods are important to the design process for high quality automotive vehicles. Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) is an emerging design tool for the ...
Experimental Verification of the Nonself-Adjoint State Space Duct Model
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Experimental verification of the nonself-adjoint state space duct model obtained previously by the authors is presented. Both pressure excitation at the end and mass flow excitation in the domain ...
State Space Representation of the Nonself-Adjoint Acoustic Duct System
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: One-dimensional acoustic response of ducts is a classical engineering problem. The acoustic response in a hard-walled duct with a dissipative end condition can be visualized as a combination of ...
An Eigenvalue Based Acoustic Impedance Measurement Technique
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A method is developed for measuring acoustic impedance. The method employs a one-dimensional tube or duct with excitation at one end and an unknown acoustic impedance at the termination end. ...
A Compensated Acoustic Actuator for Systems with Strong Dynamic Pressure Coupling
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This study improves the performance of a previously developed acoustic actuator in the presence of an acoustic duct system with strong pressure coupling. The speaker dynamics and the acoustic ...
Probability Distribution of Statistical Energy Analysis Model Responses Due to Parameter Randomness
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) methodology has been widely used in aerospace, ship and automotive industry for high frequency noise analysis and acoustic designs. SEA models are treated ...
