ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

An Unsymmetrical Motion in a Horizontal Impact Oscillator
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Stability and bifurcation for the unsymmetrical, periodic motion of a horizontal impact oscillator under a periodic excitation are investigated through four mappings based on two switch-planes ...
Nonlinear Dynamics of a Micro-Electro-Mechanical System With Time-Varying Capacitors
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The natural frequency and responses of a micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) with time-varying capacitors are determined under an equivalent direct current (DC) voltage. Under alternating current ...
Nonlinear Vibration of Rotating Thin Disks
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The response and natural frequencies for the linear and nonlinear vibrations of rotating disks are given analytically through the new plate theory proposed by Luo in 1999. The results for the ...
