ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Introduction to the Inaugural Issue of the Journal of Nondestructive Evaluation, Diagnostics, and Prognostics of Engineering Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Peri-Ultrasound Modeling of Dynamic Response of an Interface Crack Showing Wave Scattering and Crack Propagation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A cracked structure made of two different elastic materials having a Griffith crack at the interface is analyzed when it is subjected to pure shear loading and ultrasonic loading. The waves generated by the applied load ...
An Improved Technique for Elastodynamic Green's Function Computation for Transversely Isotropic Solids
Publisher: American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Elastodynamic Green's function for anisotropic solids is required for wave propagation modeling in composites. Such modeling is needed for the interpretation of experimental results generated by ultrasonic excitation or ...
Alkali Activated Fly Ash-Based Concrete: Evaluation of Curing Process Using Non-Linear Ultrasonic Approach
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper investigates the applicability of the nondestructive testing and evaluation (NDT&
Nonlinear Acoustic Technique for Monitoring Porosity in Additively Manufactured Parts
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Ultrasonic wave based techniques are widely used for damage detection and for quantitative and qualitative characterization of materials. In this study, ultrasonic waves are used for probing the response of additively ...
Linear and Nonlinear Ultrasonic Techniques for Monitoring Stress-Induced Damages in Concrete
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: When stress in concrete exceeds certain threshold value, microcracks are nucleated, these microcracks can propagate and coalesce forming macrocracks, resulting in the gradual decay of the mechanical properties of concrete ...
Monitoring Elastoplastic Deformation in Ductile Metallic Materials Using Sideband Peak Count-Index Technique
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Ductile metallic materials such as aluminum alloy, brass, and steel are widely used in engineering structures. Monitoring elastoplastic deformation in these materials is important for structural health monitoring (SHM) to ...
