ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Mechanics Modeling of Multisegment Rod Driven Continuum Robots
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents a novel modeling approach for the mechanics of multisegment, roddriven continuum robots. This modeling approach utilizes a highfidelity lumped parameter model that captures the variation in curvature ...
Design and Optimization of a Five Finger Haptic Glove Mechanism
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper describes the design and optimization of a novel fivefinger haptic glove mechanism, which uses a wormgeared motor and an antagonistically routed cable mechanism at each finger as both active and passive force ...
The Design Evolution of a Sensing and Force Feedback Exoskeleton Robotic Glove for Hand Rehabilitation Application
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents the design evolution of the sensing and forcefeedback exoskeleton robotic (SAFER) glove with application to hand rehabilitation. The hand grasping rehabilitation system is designed to gather kinematic ...
On the Dual Rod Slider Rocker Mechanism and Its Applications to Tristate Rigid Active Docking
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The dualrod slider rocker mechanism is equivalent to two traditional singlerod sliders that share a common rocker, where the sliders translate along two opposite directions. Unlike a singlerod system, the dualrod mechanism ...
