ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Induction System Effects on Small-Scale Turbulence in a High-Speed Diesel Engine
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The influence of the induction system on small-scale turbulence in a high-speed, automotive diesel engine was investigated under variable swirl conditions. The induction system was made up of ...
Implicit Numerical Model of a High-Pressure Injection System
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An implicit finite-difference numerical method has been developed and applied to the simulation of unsteady flow phenomena in a high-pressure injection system. A first-order one-step BSBT (backward ...
Extraction Techniques and Analysis of Turbulence Quantities From In-Cylinder Velocity Data
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In addition to the frequently used statistical ensemble-average, non-Reynolds filtering operators have long been proposed for nonstationary turbulent quantities. Several techniques for the reduction ...
Simulation and Experimental Analysis of Diesel Fuel-Injection Systems With a Double-Stage Injector
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A double-spring, sacless-nozzle injector was fitted to the distributor-pump fuel-injection system of an automotive diesel engine in order to study its effect on the system performance for two ...
Autocorrelation and Autospectra Estimation of Reciprocating Engine Turbulence
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A general method for analyzing the time-correlation and frequency-spectral structure of turbulence in IC reciprocating engines was developed and applied to the cycle-resolved turbulent velocity ...
Numerical Analysis Versus Experimental Investigation of a Distributor-Type Diesel Fuel-Injection System
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A production distributor-type fuel-injection system for diesel engines has been extensively investigated via computer-assisted simulation and experimentation. The investigation was mainly aimed at ...
