ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Sustained-Load Crack-Growth in Inconel 718 Under Nonisothermal Conditions
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Sustained-load crack-growth experiments were conducted under isothermal and nonisothermal conditions. Temperature cycling was conducted between 537° and 649°C. Hold times at minimum and/or ...
Influence of Environment and Creep on Fatigue Crack Growth in a High Temperature Aluminum Alloy 8009
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Frequency effects on fatigue crack growth rates are examined in aluminum alloy 8009 in sheet and extruded product forms. The investigations show that frequency effects on the fatigue crack ...
Crack Growth Rate Behavior of a Titanium-Aluminide Alloy During Isothermal and Nonisothermal Conditions
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Observations of isothermal fatigue, isothermal fatigue with superimposed load hold times, and thermomechanical fatigue (TMF) crack growth rate behavior of Ti-24Al-11Nb are presented and compared ...
Investigation of Creep/Fatigue Interaction on Crack Growth in a Titanium Aluminide Alloy
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Crack growth under sustained load and sustained load with superimposed fatigue cycles at elevated temperatures in a titanium-aluminide alloy (Ti3 Al) was investigated. The objectives were to ...
Fatigue Life Prediction in Titanium Matrix Composites
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Methods used for life prediction of titanium matrix composites under isothermal and thermomechanical (TMF) fatigue are reviewed. Models containing a single parameter are shown to have applicability ...
Using a Dovetail Fixture to Study Fretting Fatigue and Fretting Palliatives
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Fretting fatigue damage can reduce the service life of engineering components in contact. The attachment between blades and disks in the fan and compressor stages of gas turbine engines is ...
