ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Dual-Axis Hole-Drilling ESPI Residual Stress Measurements
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A novel dual-axis ESPI hole-drilling residual stress measurement method is presented. The method enables the evaluation of all the in-plane normal stress components with similar response to ...
Residual Stress Solution Extrapolation for the Slitting Method Using Equilibrium Constraints
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Established methods for calculating residual stresses from the strains measured when using the slitting method give results for the stresses that exist within the depth range of the slit. ...
Hole-Drilling Residual Stress Profiling With Automated Smoothing
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An effective procedure is presented that allows stable hole-drilling residual stress calculations using strain data from measurements taken at many small increments of hole depth. This use of ...
Use of Inverse Solutions for Residual Stress Measurements
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: For most of the destructive methods used for measuring residual stresses, the relationship between the measured deformations and the residual stresses are in the form of an integral equation, ...
