ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

The Tensile Fracture Characteristics of Nickel, Monel, and Selected Superalloys Broken in Liquid Mercury
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An investigation was performed, using the slow strain-rate tensile test technique, to determine whether nickel and typical nickel base alloys were susceptible to embrittlement by liquid mercury ...
The Fatigue Behavior of Nickel, Monel, and Selected Superalloys, Tested in Liquid Mercury and Air; A Comparison
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The fatigue lifetimes and fractography were compared for nickel and typical nickel base alloys of the Monel, Inconel, and Incoloy series, tested at room temperature in alternating tension in ...
A Comparison of Hydrogen and Mercury Embrittlement in Monel at Room Temperature
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Slow strain rate tensile tests were performed on annealed and cold drawn Monel 400 and Monel R405 at room temperature in air, mercury, and electrolyte hydrogen. Hydrogen and mercury caused ...
