ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

An Experimental Study of the Post CHOPS Cyclic Solvent Injection Process
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Cold heavy oil production with sand (CHOPS) has been applied successfully in many oil fields in Canada. However, typically only 5–15% of the original oil in place (OOIP) is recovered during cold production. Therefore, ...
Short-Term Forecasting of Natural Gas Consumption Using Factor Selection Algorithm and Optimized Support Vector Regression
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Forecasting of natural gas consumption has been essential for natural gas companies, customers, and governments. However, accurate forecasting of natural gas consumption is difficult, due to the cyclical change of the ...
Characterization of Foamy Oil and Gas/Oil Two-Phase Flow in Porous Media for a Heavy Oil/Methane System
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In our previous study, a series of experiments had been conducted by applying different pressure depletion rates in a 1 m long sand-pack. In this study, numerical simulation models are built to simulate the lab tests, for ...
An Empirical Model to Estimate Sweep Efficiency of a Surfactant-Alternating-Gas Foam Process in Heterogeneous Reservoirs
Publisher: American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A surfactant-alternating-gas (SAG) process is a promising enhanced oil recovery (EOR) method for tight oil reservoirs. In this study, an empirical model is developed to predict the dynamic performance of a SAG process ...
Feasibility Analysis and Optimal Design of Acidizing of Coalbed Methane Wells
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Plugging is a prominent reason for production reduction in coalbed methane (CBM) wells. In order to solve this problem, authors conducted the feasibility analysis and optimal design of acidizing of CBM wells to remove the ...
Experimental Investigation of the Damage Mechanisms of Drilling Mud in Fractured Tight gas Reservoir
Publisher: American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Mud pollution seriously restricts the development of tight gas reservoirs. For the Dabei tight gas field in Tarim Basin, lots of wells show a higher skin factor on the pressure buildup test curves after drilling. Little ...
Feasibility Analysis and Optimal Design of Acidizing of Coalbed Methane Wells
Publisher: American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Plugging is a prominent reason for production reduction in coalbed methane (CBM) wells. In order to solve this problem, authors conducted the feasibility analysis and optimal design of acidizing of CBM wells to remove the ...
Numerical and Orthogonal Study on Optimization Analysis of Structure Parameters of Bubble Breaker for Electrical Submersible Pump System
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Under slug flow conditions, electrical submersible pumps (ESPs) show a low efficiency due to Taylor bubbles, which cause pressure surging and gas pockets and the further deterioration of pressure boosting ability. In this ...
