ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Adaptive and Real-Time Optimal Control of Stick–Slip and Bit Wear in Autonomous Rotary Steerable Drilling
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Deviated, horizontal, and multilateral wells are drilled to increase the contact area between the well path and the reservoir and as a result, the well productivity will be increased. Directional steering systems (DSS) are ...
A Robust Rate of Penetration Model for Carbonate Formation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: During the drilling operations, optimizing the rate of penetration (ROP) is very crucial, because it can significantly reduce the overall cost of the drilling process. ROP is defined as the speed at which the drill bit ...
New Treatment for Improving the Productivity of Shale Reservoirs Using Thermochemical Fluids
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Shale reservoirs are characterized with very low productivity due to the high capillary pressure and the ultra-low rock permeability. This article presents an effective treatment to improve the hydrocarbon productivity for ...
Statistical Methods to Improve the Quality of Real-Time Drilling Data
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The age of easy oil is ending, and the industry started drilling in remote unconventional conditions. To help produce safer, faster, and most effective operations, the utilization of artificial intelligence and machine ...
Evaluating the Effectiveness of Machine Learning Technologies in Improving Real-Time Drilling Data Quality
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Due to high demand for energy, oil and gas companies started to drill wells in remote environments conducting unconventional operations. In order to maintain safe, fast, and more cost-effective operations, utilizing machine ...
