ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Global Sensitivity Analysis for Vehicle–Track Interactions: Special Attention on Track Irregularities
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The dynamic vehicle–track interactions are complex processes due to the highly nonlinear terms and spatially varying excitations in vehicle design, track maintenance, dynamic prediction, etc. Therefore, it is of importance ...
Cross Wind Effects on Vehicle–Track Interactions: A Methodology for Dynamic Model Construction
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An efficient and accurate model for the dynamic assessment of vehicle-track behavior subjected to cross wind actions is developed in this paper, where the wind–vehicle–track interaction is regarded as a coupled vibration ...
An Advanced Antislip Control Algorithm for Locomotives Under Complex Friction Conditions
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The locomotive wheelsets configured with high-power AC traction motors are very prone to slip under poor friction conditions, which usually impair traction/braking efficiency. To avoid the adverse consequence caused by the ...
Nonlinear Stability of Rail Vehicles Traveling on Vibration-Attenuating Slab Tracks
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Various vibration-attenuating slab tracks have been introduced into urban railways to minimize the negative effects of train-induced ground vibration and noise. However, compared with traditional slab tracks, vibration-attenuating ...
Wear Problems of High-Speed Wheel/Rail Systems: Observations, Causes, and Countermeasures in China
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Wear problems of wheel/rail systems occurring on the Chinese high-speed railway network in the last decade are summarized and explained together with the corresponding experience of treating them. Focus is placed on uneven ...
