ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Stress and Strength Analysis of Concentric Reducers Consisting of Plates
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents a new kind of piping component—a concentric reducer consisting of plates. Authors performed experimental and elastic, elastic-plastic analyses on five test models having different ...
Plastic Limit Loads of Pad Reinforced Cylindrical Vessels Under Out-of-Plane Moment of Nozzle
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The purpose of this work is to study the plastic limit load of pad reinforced cylindrical vessels with different d/D ratios under out-of-plane moment loading on a nozzle. Three full-scale test ...
Study of Elastic Strength for Cylinders With Hillside Nozzle
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The objective of this paper is to investigate the elastic strength of cylindrical vessels with hillside nozzle under out-of-plane moment on the nozzle. A total of 5 model vessels with different ...
Elastic Behavior of Cylindrical Vessels With Lateral Nozzle Under Internal Pressure
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The objective of this work is to study the elastic stress distribution, deformation characteristic, and stress concentration factor (SCF) of a cylindrical vessel with lateral nozzle. Three full ...
Burst Pressure of Pressurized Cylinders With Hillside Nozzle
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The burst pressure of cylinders with hillside nozzle is determined using both experimental and finite element analysis (FEA) approaches. Three full-scale test models with different angles of the ...
Effect of Gap Between Pad and Vessel for Moment Loading on Nozzle
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to present a study of the effect of a geometric gap between the cylindrical shell and reinforcement pad on the local stresses in the area of the intersection ...
Effect of Geometry of Grooves on Connection Strength of Hydraulically Expanded Tube-to-Tubesheet Joints
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The object of this paper is to investigate the effect of the geometry of circumferential grooves on the connection strength of hydraulically expanded tube-to-tubesheet joints of heat exchangers. ...
Plastic Analysis for Cylindrical Vessels Under In-Plane Moment on the Nozzle
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The objective of this paper is to determine the plastic limit moment for cylindrical vessels with a nozzle under in-plane moment loading. Three full scale test models with different d/D ratios ...
Study of Plastic Limit Load on Pressurized Cylinders With Lateral Nozzle
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The objective of this work is to study the plastic limit load of cylindrical vessels with different lateral angles θ under increasing internal loadings. Three full size test vessels with ...
Elastic Stresses of Pressurized Cylinders With Hillside Nozzle
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The purpose of this work is to investigate the elastic stress and deformation of pressurized cylinders with a hillside nozzle. Two full-scale test models were designed and fabricated specially ...
