ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Development and Validation of an Adaptive Method to Generate High Resolution Quadrature Encoder Signals
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents a new method to increase the measurement resolution of quadrature encoders. The method contains an adaptive signal correction step and a signal interpolation step. Measured encoder signals contain ...
Enhancing the Structural Performance of Additively Manufactured Objects Through Build Orientation Optimization
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Additively manufactured objects often exhibit directional dependencies in their structure due to the layered nature of the printing process. While this dependency has a significant impact on the object's functional ...
Concurrent Structure and Process Optimization for Minimum Cost Metal Additive Manufacturing
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Metals-additive manufacturing (MAM) is enabling unprecedented design freedom and the ability to produce significantly lighter weight parts with the same performance, offering the possibility of significant environmental ...
Manufacturability Oriented Model Correction and Build Direction Optimization for Additive Manufacturing
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: We introduce a method to analyze and modify a shape to make it manufacturable for a given additive manufacturing (AM) process. Different AM technologies, process parameters, or materials introduce geometric constraints on ...
