ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

The Damping Capacity of a Sealed Squeeze Film Bearing
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to establish a theoretical model to represent a sealed squeeze-film damper bearing and to assess it against results from a test rig, simulating the essential ...
The Control of Engine Vibration Using Squeeze Film Dampers
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper describes the following roles of a squeeze-film damper when used in gas turbine applications as a means of reducing vibration and transmitted force due to unbalance: (a) as an ...
Discussion: “The Synchronous Instability of a Compressor Rotor Due to Bearing Journal Differential Heating” (de Jongh, F. M., and Morton, P. G., 1996, ASME J. Eng. Gas Turbines Power, 118, pp. 816–823)

The Effect of Squeeze Film Damper Parameters on the Unbalance Response and Stability of a Flexible Rotor
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: There has been much research work carried out on various aspects of individual squeeze-film dampers (SFDs) but very little on the interplay between a damper and the rotating assembly of which ...
