ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Weak Thermal Vortex Rings
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A simple mathematical model is proposed and a similarity solution is obtained to study the behavior of very weak thermal vortex rings induced by a horizontal line source of thermal energy in ...
A Note on Oscillatory Couette Flow in a Rotating System
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An alternative solution is proposed for the oscillatory Ekman boundary layer flow bounded by two parallel plates in relative motion (Muzumder, 1991). The solution brings out among other things, ...
Double Diffusion From a Heated Sphere in an Infinite Porous Medium
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Free convective heat and mass transfer from a sphere of constant temperature and concentration buried in an unbounded porous medium is studied analytically assuming the validity of the Darcy ...
