ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

A New Approach to Linear Filtering and Prediction Problems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The classical filtering and prediction problem is re-examined using the Bode-Shannon representation of random processes and the “state-transition” method of analysis of dynamic systems. New results ...
When Is a Linear Control System Optimal?
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to formulate, study, and (in certain cases) resolve the Inverse Problem of Optimal Control Theory, which is the following: Given a control law, find all performance ...
New Results in Linear Filtering and Prediction Theory
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A nonlinear differential equation of the Riccati type is derived for the covariance matrix of the optimal filtering error. The solution of this “variance equation” completely specifies the optimal ...
Control System Analysis and Design Via the “Second Method” of Lyapunov: II—Discrete-Time Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The second method of Lyapunov is applied to the study of discrete-time (sampled-data) systems. With minor variations, the discussion parallels that of the companion paper on continuous-time ...
Control System Analysis and Design Via the “Second Method” of Lyapunov: I—Continuous-Time Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The “second method” of Lyapunov is the most general approach currently in the theory of stability of dynamic systems. After a rigorous exposition of the fundamental concepts of this theory, ...
