ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

A Miniature Toposcopic Catheter Suitable for Small Diameter Tortuous Blood Vessels
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A miniature catheter suitable for clinical use based on the principle of the continuously everting tube has been developed and tested extensively in dogs. The 1-mm-dia flexible tube can advance ...
A Nonlinear Anisotropic Viscoelastic Model for the Tensile Behavior of the Corneal Stroma
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Tensile strip experiments of bovine corneas have shown that the tissue exhibits a nonlinear rate-dependent stress-strain response and a highly nonlinear creep response that depends on the applied ...
Advanced Technology for Reducing Aircraft Engine Pollution
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The proposed EPA regulations covering emissions of gas turbine engines will require extensive combustor development. The NASA is working to develop technology to meet these goals through a wide ...
A Self-Organizing Mesh Generation Program
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A two-dimensional mesh generation program producing quadrilateral elements is presented. It uses a modular, flexible input scheme, and incorporates some existing techniques of initial mesh generation. ...
