ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Fuel Oil Reburning Application for NOx Control to Firetube Package Boilers
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Two pilot-scale (0.73 MW or 2.5 × 106 Btu/hr) firetube package boilers were retrofitted for fuel oil reburning application for NOx emission control. When firing distillate fuel oil (0.01 ...
The Effect of Water/Residual Oil Emulsions on Air Pollutant Emissions and Efficiency of Commercial Boilers
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Two commercially available water-in-oil emulsifiers were tested to determine the effect of water/residual oil emulsions on air pollutant emissions and thermal efficiency of a packaged boiler. Of ...
Reduction of Pollutant Emissions From Industrial Boilers by Combustion Modification
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The use of combustion modification has enabled many utility boilers to meet the emission standards for NOx . Its usefulness in reducing NOx emissions from industrial boilers (ranging from 11 ...
Refinery Process Heater NOx Control by Staged Combustion Air Lances
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A vertically fired natural-draft petroleum-refinery crude-oil process heater was modified to reduce oxides of nitrogen (NOx ) emissions by installing staged combustion air lances. Baseline NO ...
Performance and Air Pollutant Emissions of an Experimental Water/Residual Oil Emulsion Burner in a Commercial Boiler
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The performance and air pollution emissions of an experimental water/oil emulsion burner are presented. The burner was fired with two residual oils at selected emulsion water fractions. In ...
