ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Dynamic Plastic Response of an Immersed Pipe
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The dynamic plastic deformation of a rigid-ideally plastic pipe subjected to an internal pressure is reduced when the pipe is surrounded by a fluid. A method to determine the added (virtual) ...
Pressure Transient Analysis of Elbow-Pipe Experiments Using the PTA-2 Computer Code
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Severe hydraulic transients may be produced in the intermediate heat transport system of a liquid-metal-cooled breeder reactor by a sodium/water reaction in a failed steam generator. The PTA-2 ...
Transient Cavitation in Fluid-Structure Interactions
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A generalized column separation model is extended to predict transient cavitation associated with fluid-structure interactions. The essential feature of the combined fluid-structure interaction ...
Pressure Transient Analysis in Piping Systems Including the Effects of Plastic Deformation and Cavitation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Computational methods for analyzing pressure transients in the intermediate heat transport system of a sodium-cooled breeder reactor are being developed at Argonne National Laboratory. The pressure ...
