ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Influence of the Reynolds Number on the Performance of Centrifugal Compressors
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This work is the result of an investigation based on numerous test data supplied by major compressor manufacturers in USA and in Europe. The main objective of the work is to propose improved ...
Discussion: “On the Evaluation of Reynolds Number and Relative Surface Roughness Effects on Centrifugal Compressor Performance Based on Systematic Experimental Investigations” (Simon, H., and Bülskämper, A., 1984, ASME J. Eng. Gas Turbines Power, 106, pp. 489–498)
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Compressor Surge in Gas Turbines and Blast Furnace Compressor Installations
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The character of different surge cycles is described, and the corresponding influence on the dynamic loading of the blades of axial flow compressors is discussed. It is shown that essentially ...
Pressure Fluctuations and Fatigue Stresses in Storage Pumps and Pump-Turbines
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Similarity is shown between a model and a full scale pump or pump-turbine in the static and dynamic fields of stress and in the vibration characteristics, if the peripheral speed of rotation ...
