ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Mechanical Response of a Metallic Aortic Stent—Part II: A Beam-on-Elastic Foundation Model
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The main objective of the paper is to develop the mathematical analysis of the response of a metallic stent subject to axisymmetric loads over its length and to different boundary conditions. ...
Mechanical Response of a Metallic Aortic Stent—Part I: Pressure-Diameter Relationship
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The mechanical response of a metallic stent is considered in this series of two papers. In Part I, the development of a test method for the characterization of the mechanical response of a ...
Double Cantilever Beam Measurement and Finite Element Analysis of Cryogenic Mode I Interlaminar Fracture Toughness of Glass-Cloth/Epoxy Laminates
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An experimental and analytical investigation in cryogenic Mode I interlaminar fracture behavior and toughness of SL-E woven glass-epoxy laminates was conducted. Double cantilever beam (DCB) tests ...
Analytical and Experimental Studies of Short-Beam Interlaminar Shear Strength of G-10CR Glass-Cloth/Epoxy Laminates at Cryogenic Temperatures
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Cryogenic interlaminar beam tests in the form of three-point flexure are examined both experimentally and analytically. The use of the short-beam shear test for measuring the interlaminar shear ...
Studies of a Heat-Pipe Cooled Piston Crown
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Designing pistons with effective cooling is crucial to preventing piston failure and improving engine service life. A piston design that incorporates the heat-pipe cooling technology may provide ...
