ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Efficient Simulation of a Dynamic System with LuGre Friction
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Friction is a difficult phenomenon to model and simulate. One promising friction model is the LuGre model, which captures key frictional behavior from experiments and from other friction models. ...
Review of Contemporary Approaches for Constraint Enforcement in Multibody Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A hallmark of multibody dynamics is that most formulations involve a number of constraints. Typically, when redundant generalized coordinates are used, equations of motion are simpler to derive ...
Tensorial Parameterization of Rotation and Motion
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The parameterizations of rotation and motion are the subject of continuous research and development in many theoretical and applied fields of mechanics such as rigid body, structural, and multibody ...
Review of Classical Approaches for Constraint Enforcement in Multibody Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A hallmark of multibody dynamics is that most formulations involve a number of constraints. Typically, when redundant generalized coordinates are used, equations of motion are simpler to derive ...
Determination of Modal Parameters in Complex Nonlinear Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper describes a methodology for evaluating the modal parameters of complex nonlinear systems. It combines four different tools: the Coleman post-processing, the partial Floquet analysis, ...
Scaling of Constraints and Augmented Lagrangian Formulations in Multibody Dynamics Simulations
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper addresses practical issues associated with the numerical enforcement of constraints in flexible multibody systems, which are characterized by index-3 differential algebraic equations ...
Efficient and Robust Approaches to the Stability Analysis of Large Multibody Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Linearized stability analysis methodologies that are applicable to large scale, multiphysics problems are presented in this paper. Two classes of closely related algorithms based on a partial ...
Tensorial Deformation Measures for Flexible Joints
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Flexible joints, sometimes called bushing elements or force elements, are found in all multibody dynamics codes. In their simplest form, flexible joints simply consist of sets of three linear ...
Stability Analysis of Complex Multibody Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The linearized stability analysis of dynamical systems modeled using finite element-based multibody formulations is addressed in this paper. The use of classical methods for stability analysis of ...
Integration of Large Deformation Finite Element and Multibody System Algorithms
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents an overview of research and development efforts that are currently being devoted to integrate large deformation finite element formulations with flexible multibody system ...
