ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Effects of Irreversibility and Economics on the Performance of a Heat Engine
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Previous investigators have shown that an internally reversible Carnot cycle, operating with heat transfer limitations between the heat source and heat sink at temperatures TH and TL , achieves ...
High-Power Multi-Stage Rankine Cycles
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents an analysis of the multi-stage Rankine cycle aiming at optimizing the power output from low-temperature heat sources such as geothermal or waste heat. A design methodology ...
Optimum Heat Power Cycles for Specified Boundary Conditions
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Optimization of the power output of Carnot and closed Brayton cycles is considered for both finite and infinite thermal capacitance rates of the external fluid streams. The method of Lagrange ...
