ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

A Stability Solution for the Axial Contour-Turning Process
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents an investigation of the stability variations in contour turning process. An equivalent chip-area formulation has been developed, and is used to model the dynamic machining ...
An Analytical Representation of Chip Area for Corner-Radiused Tools Under Both Depth-of-Cut and Feed Variations
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The operation of corner-radiused tools under both depth-of-cut and feed variation is a situation that occurs for many processes (e.g., straight turning, contour turning, boring, and face-milling) ...
Modeling and Prediction of Hole Profile in Drilling, Part 2: Modeling Hole Profile
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A hole profile model that integrates the dynamics of the drill in the presence of alignment errors, the drill wandering, and the drill margin-hole wall interaction has been developed. The ...
Modeling Chip-Evacuation Forces in Drilling for Various Flute Geometries
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In this paper, a chip-evacuation force model is presented to predict the torque and thrust required to evacuate the chips during drilling for various flute geometries. The model considers the ...
Modeling and Prediction of Hole Profile in Drilling, Part 1: Modeling Drill Dynamics in the Presence of Drill Alignment Errors
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A dynamic deflection model that incorporates the effect of the alignment errors that arise when a drill is held in the spindle assembly has been developed. The drill is modeled as an ...
