ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Formation of Flammable Zones Due to the Action of Diffusional Mass Transfer—A Simplified Approach
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The transient concentration profiles of a fuel or a toxic gas were examined following its release into air within a long confined volume with either an open or a closed end. The exact ...
Experimental Study of Self-Ignition and Smoldering of Moist Cellulosic Materials
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The self-ignition and smoldering characteristics of cellulosic materials, as exemplified by cotton fibers, when subjected to convective low-velocity heated air stream were studied experimentally at ...
The Formation of Stratified Combustible Mixtures in Closed Tubes by Molecular and Convective Diffusions
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper describes a theoretical study on the formation of stratified combustible mixtures in closed long vertical flame tubes. The concentration profiles of the fuel (methane) in air, just ...
