ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Tip-Over Stability of Manipulator-Like Mobile Hydraulic Machines
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper describes the development of a simulation model for studying the tip-over stability of a typical heavy-duty hydraulic log-loader machine. The model takes into account the dynamics of ...
Impact Control in Hydraulic Actuators
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Every manipulator contact task that begins with a transition from free motion to constraint motion may exhibit impacts that could drive the system unstable. Stabilization of manipulators during ...
Simulation and Experimental Studies of Gear Backlash and Stick-Slip Friction in Hydraulic Excavator Swing Motion
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Inherent to any heavy-duty hydraulic machine operation with a large number of interconnected components are nonidealities such as gear backlash, friction and leakage. The swing motion of the ...
Resolved-Mode Teleoperated Control of Heavy-Duty Hydraulic Machines
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper addresses the control problem for a class of heavy-duty hydraulic machines in order to achieve coordinated motion control of the implement. A model and sensor-based control algorithm ...
A Measure of Stability for Mobile Manipulators With Application to Heavy-Duty Hydraulic Machines
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper describes the development of a suitable algorithm to compute the potential of tipping-over for vehicles that carry manipulators. The energy method developed by Messuri and Klein (1985) ...
