ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

FEM Simulation of Laser Forming of Metal Plates*
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A finite element model is developed for thermo-mechanical analysis of the process of metal plate forming by laser line heating. A rezoning technique is adopted to greatly reduce the simulation ...
Memory Analysis of Solid Model Representations for Heterogeneous Objects
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Methods to represent and exchange parts consisting of Functionally Graded Material (FGM) for Solid Freeform Fabrication (SFF) with Local Composition Control (LCC) are evaluated based on their ...
Shape Intrinsic Properties for Free-Form Object Matching
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Despite extensive research and rapid increase of computing power, free-form object matching still remains a challenging problem in CAD/CAM areas. In this paper, various object features are ...
