ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Effect of Galling on Metal Fracture in Cup Ironing Process
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The metal fracture mechanism in cup ironing process was investigated, taking into account the effect of the galling. Three types of metal cracking were observed, which are distinguishable from ...
Assessment of Deep-Drawability of Mild Steel Sheets in Consideration of r-Value Change During Processing
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In the previous study, it was found that the plastic anisotropy of commercially pure aluminum sheets changed during the deep-drawing process, and that this change influenced markedly the ...
Friction Behavior in the Cup Ironing Process of Aluminum Sheets
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The object of this paper is to clarity the surface flattening mechanism in the cup ironing process based on the lubricating mechanism. A new experimental apparatus for the ironing process was ...
Effect of Thickness on the Pure Stretchability of Aluminum Sheets
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The effects of the thickness, lubricant, and temper of metals on pure stretchability of aluminum sheets have been studied. The pure stretchability of the sheet metals was markedly deteriorated ...
Some Considerations on the Formability Parameter in Sheet-Metal Forming
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The applicability of the relative load-carrying capacity as a formability parameter is examined for deep-drawing, combined-forming, and pure stretch-forming tests, using various kinds of sheet ...
Assessment of Deep-Drawability and Stretchability by Bulge Test of Concentrically Grooved Metal Disks
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In order to obtain new parameters available for assessing deep-drawability and pure-stretchability of sheet metals, a bulge test employing concentrically grooved disks is investigated. Both the ...
Development of Anti-Weldability Test in Metal Forming by Means of Strip-Ironing Type Friction Testing Machine
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: To develop an anti-weldability test in metal forming, a strip-ironing type friction testing machine was devised to measure simultaneously normal and frictional forces acting on the die during ...
The Frictional Mechanism on the Surface of Metal Being Plastically Deformed by Drawing
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: To examine welding phenomena in deformation process, two-dimensional drawing-type friction tests have been carried out, using mild steel as the work metal. On the holder-surface a boundary ...
Effects of Punch Cross-Section on Deep-Drawability of Square Shell of Aluminum Sheet
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Effects of product shape and a planar-anisotropy on a square shell drawability were studied, using commercially pure aluminum sheet. Two phenomena were mainly considered to affect a forming ...
Formability Assessment by Bulge Test Employing Grooved Disks (Investigation into the Optimum Geometry of the Groove)
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The optimum geometry of the groove is investigated in the bulge test employing concentrically grooved disks which was earlier proposed as a press-formability test by the authors. It is recommended ...
