ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Flow Structures in a U-Shaped Fuel Cell Flow Channel: Quantitative Visualization Using Particle Image Velocimetry
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Flow through an experimental model of a U-shaped fuel cell channel is used to investigate the fluid dynamic phenomena that occur within serpentine reactant transport channels of fuel cells. ...
Turbulent Flow Around a Bluff Rectangular Plate. Part II: Numerical Predictions
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents calculations of the time-averaged separated-reattaching flow around a bluff rectangular plate, using a finite difference procedure and the k-ε turbulence model. Two discretization ...
Application of Momentum Integral Methods and Linearized Potential Theory for Predicting Separation Bubble Characteristics
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A new viscous-inviscid interaction procedure of the semi-inverse type has been developed to predict two-dimensional separated flows. The method is applied to incompressible flow over an external ...
Experimental and Computational Assessment of Windage Losses in Rotating Machinery
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A combined experimental and computational investigation of the flow between a rotating cylinder and a fixed enclosure is presented. The configuration considered is related to the design of a ...
Turbulent Flow Around a Bluff Rectangular Plate. Part I: Experimental Investigation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Measurements are reported for the separted reattaching flow around a long rectangular plate placed at zero incidence in a low-turbulence stream. This laboratory configuration, chosen for its ...
