ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Theoretical and Experimental Study on Airflow Damping of Vibrating Microcantilevers
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The damping characteristics of microcantilevers are clarified analytically and experimentally to establish a dynamic design method of micromechanical systems. First, an approximate formula of airflow ...
A Spherical DC Servo Motor With Three Degrees of Freedom
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A spherical DC servo motor with three degrees of freedom is proposed. First, the process of generating three-dimensional torque is analyzed to obtain the torque constant matrix. The matrix ...
Natural Modes and Natural Frequencies of Uniform, Circular, Free-Edge Plates
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The natural modes and natural frequencies for the first 701 modes of vibration of a uniform thin circular plate with free edges are tabulated for a homogeneous isotropic material with Poisson’s ...
Polydyne Cam Mechanisms for Typehead Positioning
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper describes a cam design method for typehead positioning in high-speed teleprinters. By this method, residual vibrations are extinguished at plural adjacent rise times and reduced over ...
Wide-Band Random Vibration of Circular Plates
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: When a uniform circular thin plate is excited at a point by a stationary wide-band random force process the transverse motion response at any point is also a wide-band random process. If ...
