ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Effects of Case Depth and Relative Radius of Curvature on Surface Durability of Case-Hardened Chromium Molybdenum Steel Roller
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In this report, effects of case depth and relative radius of curvature on surface durability of case-hardened chromium molybdenum steel roller are experimentally clarified. The experimental results ...
Study on the Vibrational Characteristics of a Tube Array Caused by Two-Phase Flow—Part 1: Random Vibration
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: There are few published papers about the flow-induced vibration caused by two-phase flow. Especially, the experimental data at high-pressure and high-temperature conditions which corresponds to the ...
Instantaneous Behavior of Lubricating Oil Supplied onto the Tooth Flanks and Its Influence on the Scoring Resistance of Spur Gears
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The correlation between the oil supply conditions, such as oil jet velocity, oil-nozzle position and its direction, and the scoring resistance of spur gear pair has been studied. The influence ...
Building an Expert System for Engineering Design Based on the Object-Oriented Knowledge Representation Concept
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An expert system is developed for engineering design based on an object-oriented knowledge representation concept. The design process is understood as determining design variables and their ...
Hybrid Approach to Plant Layout Design Using Constraint-Directed Search and an Optimization Technique
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A hybrid type approach to plant layout design is presented using a constraint-directed search procedure and a mathematical optimization technique. In layout design, a plant must be arranged to ...
Study on the Vibrational Characteristics of a Tube Array Caused by Two-Phase Flow—Part 2: Fluidelastic Vibration
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Fluidelastic vibration of a tube array caused by two-phase flow has been reported in some papers. The critical flow velocity is usually estimated with a simple Connors-type criterion which is ...
Restraint Effect of Fluid in the Annular Region Formed by Coaxial Circular Cylinders
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Many studies have been made with regard to added mass and added damping of the fluid in the case of simple circular cylinders by Chen, Fritz, Mulcahy, etc.; but those effects for the ...
