ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Stress Distribution Around a Circular Bar, With Flat and Spherical Ends, Embedded in a Matrix in a Triaxial Stress Field
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper deals with the stress and strain distribution around a circular bar embedded in a matrix and subjected to a mechanically applied triaxial load. The three-dimensional “freezing” technique ...
Buckling of Laminated Cylindrical Panels Under Uniaxial Compression
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Buckling characteristics of anisotropic laminated cylindrical panels are presented using an isoparametric nine-noded rectangular element. Kinematic relations, extended to include the first-order shear ...
Deflections and Stresses of Antisymmetric Angle-Ply Clamped Plates Under Transverse Loading
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Closed-form solutions are not tractable for clamped composite plates due to the boundary conditions and anisotropy of the plate. In the present work, a method based on Lagrange multipliers is ...
Analysis of Cord-Reinforced Poly-Rib Serpentine Belt Drive With Thermal Effect
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper investigates the operation of an automotive poly-rib serpentine belt system. A three-dimensional dynamic finite element model, consisting of a driver pulley, a driven pulley, and a ...
Elasticity Solution for a Multilayered Transversely Isotropic Circular Cylindrical Shell
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An elasticity solution has been obtained for a long multilayered cylindrical shell of transversely isotropic layers subjected to axisymmetric radial load following Lekhnitskii’s stress function ...
Photoelastic Analysis of a Composite Prism Subjected to Partial Compression
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Static Analysis of Thick Laminated Circular Cylindrical Shells
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An approximate solution for a thick laminated simply supported circular cylindrical shell of revolution and shell panel subjected to asymmetric load has been obtained using elasticity approach. ...
Stresses in a Pressurized Ribbed Cylindrical Shell With a Reinforced Circular Hole Interrupting a Rib
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The stresses in a ribbed cylindrical shell with a reinforced circular hole intersecting one of the ribs are analyzed when the shell is subjected to internal pressure. Several experimental methods ...
