ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Acoustic Design Sensitivity for Structural Radiators
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An analysis technique designated as acoustic design sensitivity (ADS) analysis is developed via the numerical treatment of a discrete quadratic expression for the total acoustic power radiated ...
An Experiment on Optimization of Active Noise Control on a Three-Dimensional Extended Radiator
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: In this experiment, a 10.6 dB reduction in the total radiated sound power for an extended radiator was achieved via active control through optimization of active sources. An acoustic boundary ...
A Boundary Element Approach to Optimization of Active Noise Control Sources on Three-Dimensional Structures
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents the theoretical development of an approach to active noise control (ANC) applicable to three-dimensional radiators. The active noise control technique, termed ANC Optimization ...
Fan Casing Noise Radiation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents a method for assessing the extent of casing noise radiation of a centrifugal fan relative to the aeroacoustic sources associated with the inlet box of the fan. Central to ...
Identifying Critical Elastic Scales in Structural-Acoustic Models
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The level of detail required for accurate structural acoustic modeling of fluid loaded structures remains an issue of significant debate. Analytical solutions are rarely available, and discrete ...
