ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

A Micromechanics Based Representation of Combined Mode I and II Toughness of Brittle Materials and Interfaces
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The work of Evans and Hutchinson (1989) on micromechanics modeling of combined mode fracture is used as the basis for proposing an expression for combined Mode I and Mode II fracture toughness ...
Failure Investigation on Reheater Pendent Tubes Due to External Scale Exfoliation and Internal Scale Formation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents failure investigation on reheater pendent SA213-T22 tubes through visual inspections, steam-side scale and tube wall thickness measurements, metallurgical examinations, and creep ...
A Metal Matrix Composite Damage and Life Prediction Model
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A simple analytical model is derived for the prediction of time-dependent deformation and damage response of metal matrix composites under fiber direction loading. The model can be used in ...
