ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

A Coefficient to Characterize Mixing in Solar Water Storage Tanks
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A dimensionless coefficient is developed to characterize the level of mixing in solar water storage tanks. The MIX number, based on the height weighted energy, or moment of energy, in the ...
Discussion: “Oscillating Turbulent Flow in a Conical Diffuser” (Schachenmann, A. A., and Rockwell, D. O., 1976, ASME J. Fluids Eng., 98, pp. 695–700)

Nonsimilar Solution of the Laminar Boundary Layer in an Oscillatory Flow by an Integral Matrix Method
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The development of a numerical technique for the treatment of two-dimensional non-similar, unsteady, laminar boundary layers is presented. The method is an extension to nonsteady flows of the ...
Heat Transfer to an Airfoil in Oscillating Flow
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Local heat transfer coefficients to an airfoil in an oscillating stream have been measured for a range of frequencies and oscillation amplitudes. Results at moderate angles of attack are in ...
