ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Synchronous Response Estimation in Rotating Machinery
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Synchronous response estimation attempts to determine the forced response (displacement) of a rotor at critical points which cannot be measured directly. This type of prediction, if accurate and ...
Reconciliation of Rotordynamic Models With Experimental Data
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A computationally efficient strategy is presented for adjusting analytic rotordynamic models to make them consistent with experimental data. The approach permits use of conventional rotordynamic ...
Flexible Bearing Supports, Using Experimental Data
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A laboratory rotor, representing a scaled-down model of a three-stage compressor supported by fluid film bearings on anisotropic flexible supports was analyzed. The support characteristics were ...
Model Identification of a Rotor With Magnetic Bearings
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The experimental identification of a long flexible rotor with three magnetic bearing journals is presented. Frequency response functions are measured between the magnetic bearing journals and the ...
