ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Comparison of Stress Distributions in a Simple Cast Tubular Joint Using 3-D Finite Element, Photoelastic and Strain Gage Techniques
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Combined strip and rosette gage measurements and results from three-dimensional, finite element calculations are in excellent agreement with frozen stress photoelastic results for an efficient shape ...
Stress Distributions in Some Diesel Engine Crankshafts
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Models of single throws of overlapped crankshafts have been loaded by free and restrained torsion, radial and tangential forces and bending moments, and by axial tension. Stress distributions ...
Fillet Welds Under Bending and Shear
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A 12-mm-thick plate representing a vessel wall and two others representing attachments on the “inside” and “outside” (forming a symmetrical cross) are jointed by 12-mm, full penetration fillet ...
