ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Optimal Design of Vibration Absorber Systems Supported by Elastic Base
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents the effect of foundation flexibility on the optimum design of vibration absorbers. Flexibility of the base is incorporated into the absorber system equations of motion through ...
Dynamic Analysis of Engine-Mount Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper examines the forced response of an airplane engine supported by an elastic foundation. It is assumed that the vibrations of the engine and the foundation are small enough such that ...
Design Optimization of Aircraft Engine-Mount Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Design optimization of aircraft engine-mount systems for vibration isolation is presented. The engine is modeled as a rigid body connected to a flexible base representing the nacelle. The base ...
Optimal Design of Centered Squeeze Film Dampers
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A two degree-of-freedom model, consisting of a rigid rotor supported on rigid bearings which are in turn supported on squeeze film dampers, is considered. Isotropic centering springs are assumed ...
Asymptotic Analysis of the Torsional Vibrations in Reciprocating Machinery
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A class of two degree of freedom reciprocating machines is analyzed and simple asymptotic expressions for both the steady state and transient vibration levels are obtained. The results are ...
Analysis and Optimal Design of Spatial Mechanical Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents a new approach to optimal design of large multibody spatial mechanical systems which takes advantage of both numerical analysis and symbolic computing. Identification of system ...
