ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Stress Concentrations in an Intermingled Hybrid Composite
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper studies the stress redistribution in a tensile hybrid composite sheet due to the breakage of a high modulus fiber. Employing a continuous distribution of dislocations, a set of ...
Matrix Cracking in Fiber-Reinforced Composite Materials
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Matrix cracking is a major pattern of the failure of composite materials. A crack can form in the matrix during manufacturing, or be produced during loading. Erdogan, Gupta, and Ratwani (1974) ...
Interface Crack in a Three-Phase Composite Constitutive Model
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An arc-shaped crack in fiber-reinforced composite material is the subject of this paper. A three-phase composite cylinder is taken as the material model to take into account the effect of ...
An Edge Dislocation in a Three-Phase Composite Cylinder Model
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An exact solution is given for the stress field due to an edge dislocation embedded in a three-phase composite cylinder. The force on the dislocation is then derived, from which a set of ...
