ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Relaxation Models for Wave Phenomena in Liquid-Vapor Bubble Flow in Channels
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: We examine wave characteristics of a liquid-vapor mixture in order to investigate certain features of the homogeneous relaxation model. The model is described by one-dimensional averaged mass, ...
On the Drag Coefficient and the Correct Integration of the Equation of Motion of Particles in Gases
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Study of a Port Design for Silo Blenders
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Experimental results are reported on two silo-blenders equipped with a new design of ports in their downcomers. None of the mixing streams was falling freely. The mixing of pellets within the ...
The Effect of Magnus Force on the Scale Deposition in Geothermal Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
A Numerical Study of Geothermal Well Flow With Salts and Noncondensables Present
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This work examines the upward natural or forced flow of geothermal fluids in liquid-dominated wells. The objective of the project is to develop a model that would adequately describe these ...
Binary-Flashing Geothermal Power Plants
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Binary-flashing units utilize new types of geothermal power cycles, which may be used with resources of relatively low temperatures (less than 150°C) where other cycles result in very low ...
The Impact of the Model of the Environment in Exergy Analyses
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The values of absolute exergy and exergetic efficiency depend on the assumed values of the “reference states,” which are essentially a model of the environment of the processes and components ...
Motion of Particles in Gases: Average Velocity and Pressure Loss
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A simplified physical model is developed for the motion of solid particles in gaseous streams confined by walls (channel or pipe flow). The equations of motion for the particle are solved and ...
Review—The Transient Equation of Motion for Particles, Bubbles, and Droplets
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The development, form, and engineering applications of the transient equation of motion of rigid particles, bubbles, and droplets are presented. Some of the early work on the equation of motion, ...
Similarity Solution for a Turbulent Round Jet
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
