ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

An Unusual Mode of Collapse of Tubes Under Combined Bending and Pressure
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
On the Effect of the U-O-E Manufacturing Process on the Collapse Pressure of Long Tubes
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A commonly used process for manufacturing large-diameter tubes for offshore pipeline, riser and tension-leg platform tether applications involves the cold forming of long plates. The plates are ...
Response and Stability of Square Tubes Under Bending
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper addresses the response and stability of elastic-plastic steel tubes with square cross section under pure bending. An analytical model with sufficiently nonlinear kinematics to capture ...
Dome Reversal of Metal Beverage Containers
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Dome reversal in metal beverage containers refers to the event when the dome at the bottom of the containers snaps through due to overpressurization. This paper presents a combined experimental ...
