ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Experimentally Determined Optical Properties of a Polydisperse Carbon Black Cloud for a Solar Particle Receiver
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Measured physical and optical properties of a stable polydisperse carbon black particle cloud at 532 nm and 1064 nm are reported. The particle cloud consisted of 99.7% spheroid primary particles ...
Editorial
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This special issue departs from the tradition of collections dedicated to a specific topic. Instead, it offers a collection of papers from a community of researchers working a specific geographical ...
Thermal Integral Micro-Generation Systems for Solar and Conventional Use
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Thermal Integral Micro-Generation (TIMGen) systems on the scale of a few Watts are proposed for use with solar or fuel-derived heat. The optics, the thermal receiver, and several alternative ...
Optical In-Situ Assessment of a Nonimaging Secondary Concentrator in a Solar Tower
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A method for remote optical measurement of the geometry of nonimaging concentrators is presented. A concentrator installed in a solar tower was measured by observation of transmission patterns ...
Continuous Tracking of Heliostats
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Tracking motions in current heliostats are usually performed in discrete steps, even though the motion of the sun is continuous. Aiming errors due to the discrete steps are often about 1 mrad ...
A High Temperature Solar Particle Receiver
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A solar particle receiver was developed to heat a process gas to very high temperatures. Its operation is based on seeding the process gas with a very large numerical amount (but small mass ...
