ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Investigation of Liquid Breakup Process Solid Rocket Motor Part B: Vertical C-D Nozzle
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Aluminized propellants are frequently used in solid rocket motors (SRMs) to increase specific impulse. However, as the propellant combusts, the aluminum is oxidized into aluminum oxide (Al2O3), it agglomerates into molten ...
A Stand-Alone Hybrid Photovoltaic, Fuel Cell, and Battery System: Case Studies in Jordan
Publisher: American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The main purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of using a hybrid photovoltaic (PV), fuel cell (FC), and battery system to power different load cases, which are intended to be used at the Al-Zarqa governorate ...
Optimization of Kaplan Hydroturbine at Very Low Head With Rim-Driven Generator
Publisher: American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The objective of the paper is to study the design and optimization of Kaplan hydroturbines for a very low head (less than 3 m), with a particular emphasis on the use of rim-drive electrical generators. The work is based ...
Utilization of Hydroturbines in Wastewater Treatment Plants
Publisher: American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are a significant energy consumer, yet there are several opportunities for implementing on-site power generation systems. Within the treatment process, the high flow rate of effluent is ...
Investigation of Horizontal Micro Kaplan Hydro Turbine Performance Using Multi-Disciplinary Design Optimization
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This study investigates performance-based design optimization for a Kaplan hydro turbine at a maximum water head of 2.6 m (8.5 ft), a micro-sized horizontal Kaplan turbine with 7.6 cm (3.0 in) diameter that has fixed blades ...
Investigation of Liquid Breakup Process Solid Rocket Motor Part A: Horizontal Converging–Diverging Nozzle
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents a solid rocket motor (SRM), both experiment and simulation of alumina molten flow patterns using the cold flow case. The combustion of aluminum composite propellants in SRM chambers causes high-temperature ...
Heat Transfer Evaluation for a Two-Pass Smooth Wall Channel: Stationary and Rotating Cases
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This study presents findings on combined effects of Reynolds number and rotational effect for a two-pass channel with a 180-deg turn, numerically and experimentally. To have a better understanding of the flow behavior and ...
