ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

The Effect of Initial Twist on the Torsional Rigidity of Beams—Another Point of View
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Applying the Lagrange Method to Solve Problems of Control Constraints
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Nonlinear Dynamics of a Flexible Multirod (Multibeam) System
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The paper presents a general nonlinear numerical model for the dynamic analysis of a spatial structure that includes chains of flexible rods, with rigid bodies between them, and different kinds ...
Investigation of a New Formulation of the Lagrange Method for Constrained Dynamic Systems
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Lagrange multipliers are often used in order to model constrained dynamic systems. This method results in problems of constraints violations and therefore various methods of constraints stabilization ...
Dynamics of Systems That Include Wings in Autorotation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A general multibody model, appropriate for investigating the autorotation of various systems of rigid bodies, is presented. Using the Newton-Euler approach, a generic modular matrix form of the ...
Vertical Autorotation of a Single-Winged Samara
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A derivation of a theoretical model for the vertical autorotation of a samara wing is presented. The dynamic effects are treated in an accurate manner. The aerodynamic effects are calculated ...
Stability of the Vertical Autorotation of a Single-Winged Samara
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A numerical model to investigate the stability of the vertical autorotation of a singlewinged samara is presented. This model is obtained after the method of small perturbations about an ...
Theoretical and Experimental Investigation of the Nonlinear Torsion and Extension of Initially Twisted Bars
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A set of nonlinear equations that describe the nonlinear deformation of initially twisted bars under the influence of torsional moment and tension force, which act simultaneously, are derived. ...
The Nonlinear Behavior of Elastic Slender Straight Beams Undergoing Small Strains and Moderate Rotations
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The nonlinear behavior of slender and initially straight beams is investigated. A set of equilibrium equations for a beam undergoing moderate rotations and small strains is derived. The derivation ...
