ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Rigid-Plastic Collapse of Cylindrical Shells
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper suggests a simple numerical approach to the limit analysis of cantilever cylindrical shells. The loads considered are external pressure and external pressure combined with a moment ...
Limit Loads of Circular Plates Under Combined Loading
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Limit loads of circular plates under combined transverse and in-plane loading are given for the von Mises yield condition. Ivanov’s approximation to the Ilyushin yield surface is used. Collapse ...
Plastic Analysis of Shallow Spherical Shells
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Rigid-plastic yielding and postyielding of pressurized shallow spherical shells is considered. The analysis includes the contribution of the transverse shear to yielding. Two approximate numerical ...
